ABOUT BIG MO
Big Mo - real name Emmanuel Derine Momoh - is one burgeoning rapper, singer and songwriter that you should be keeping an eye on in 2012. Hailing from Edo state and raised in the northern part of Nigeria, Kaduna state to be precise, Big Mo draws inspiration from the likes of the late Notorious B.I.G, Michael Jackson, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti and Jay-Z respectively, hence his passion and love for music which shines through today.
Having started making music at an early age, Big Mo has already collaborated with the likes of Praiz, Iyanya, Skales, Pope Tha Hitman and Maytronomy so far in his rising career. Like every young musician aspiring for artistic success, the hard working rapper and singer/songwriter previously released his debut singe titled “Komole” back in 2005 with a video that saw modest success and television rotation, he then went back to the drawing board to work more on himself, recording a couple of mixtapes in the process. After which, he made a return in 2011 and dropped another single featuring E.M.E soldier Skales with a melody that was drawn from the above mentioned late great Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.
This single created that much needed buzz for Big Mo and he has been striving off that success and working hard to live up to the hype with his follow-up single. In 2012, he is releasing his third single titled “WAHLAITALAI” - a slang drawn from the northern part of Nigeria where he grew up - which featured Maytronomy. With this new single, he believes he is set to take Nigerian entertainment to another level as he aims to stand tall among his peers in the Nigerian music landscape. Big Mo is also currently studying Politics and International Relations in Lead City University, Ibadan.
