He released his first mixtape called The ill files in 2005 which was a collection of songs and beats. In 2007, he teamed up with his friend and classmate Toby Martins to release a second mixtape called D.I.Y. (Do it yourself) which produced the widely acclaimed hit “How your own take be?” He runs Mixtape muzik which is a collection of hip-hop tracks featuring the best of the best Nigerian MCs. He is one of the members of The roots muvment which is a group of progressive artistes, producers, DJs and video directors. Illwill is currently working on his long awaited album called The goodwill of illwill. The first single from the album called Let’s go was released early this year and it features the rising female rap sensation Mischief.
