Brief Interview With The C.E.O SKP MUSIC AND MOVIES (Sam Kargbo)

The C.E.O SKP MUSIC AND MOVIES
Sam Kargbo a.k.a Uncle Sam

We were lucky to have caught up with the busy Uncle Sam to have a brief interview with him about his love for entertainment.

Simple man who is excited about life, praying to protect his lovely family from the elements and wishing that he had the means to turn around the lives of the world's poor and deprived.

AFRIKTAINMENT: Sir, when was the label created and why so much love for music?
SAM KARGBO: The Label was established in 2003. I got involved because of my kids - XProject, Over time I realise that it was indeed good that I took the decision
AFRIKTAINMENT: Kids? are they in any way related to you if we may ask sir?
SAM KARGBO: They have over time become my kids.
AFRIKTAINMENT: Apart from X-Project, which other artist do you have under your label sir?
SAM KARGBO: I have STYL-PLUS, AZADUS, CEE JAY, DX 3 AND CACU REPUBLIC
AFRIKTAINMENT: Has the label been profitable to you sir?
SAM KARGBO: its been most fulfilling- seeing ones involvement lifting up the lives of others. No money can give the joy that comes with that
AFRIKTAINMENT: We had Azadus is out with a new track No Yawa and StylPlus, X-Project and DX3 are back in the studio working on their new album. What should we expect this time?
SAM KARGBO: Expect the best from them. The label is working on a combined album and the challenge to the artists is that it is only the songs that meet the set standard that would be included in the album. Call it an internal challenge but I call it a good way of getting the best from them.
AFRIKTAINMENT: Sir, how do you describe the entertainment industry today?
SAM KARGBO: I think Nigeria has never had it so good! The kids are churning out good and challenging music by the minute. The only snag is that the corporate citizens are not investing that much again in the industry and that is dangerous. We need more money in the industry. So in a word the industry is beautiful
AFRIKTAINMENT: What does it takes to be on your label sir?
SAM KARGBO: Talent, Focus and patience
AFRIKTAINMENT: Apart from music sir, we also heard you are into movies. How do you cope with both
SAM KARGBO: I enjoy the challenge that come with them. Entertainment has become an adiction to me
AFRIKTAINMENT: Are u a script writer too or you buy your stories
SAM KARGBO: I write and can buy a good script
AFRIKTAINMENT: Should we be expecting any new movie from you?
SAM KARGBO: With time but will wait until the fortunes of the industry improve
AFRIKTAINMENT: Apart from entertainment, what else do you do sir?
SAM KARGBO: I do private legal practice
AFRIKTAINMENT: Any advice for the upcoming musicians, actors and actress
SAM KARGBO: Entertainment is serious business- it requires 247/366 days attention. It is the most competitive endeavour in the world. Anybody engaging in any aspect of entertainment must be 100% serious to be able to earn a living from it.
AFRIKTAINMENT: Thanks for your time sir, and we wish you and your boys the best
SAM KARGBO: Thanks for the opportunity to talk to u
