VIDEO: Afrikanas feat. Puto Português – Esse Som

Check out the Afrikanas! The crew – which has been sometimes labeled as being Africa’s answer to the PussyCat Dolls – is made of former TPA 2 Bounce contestants, a national television contest dedicated to emerging urban talents.

They sing, they rap, they dance (and they look nice!), and since I found about them through this beautiful video they shot in Paris, I have been a FAN! Although one of the group members (Neide Sofia) left the band this year to launch her solo career, Afrikanas keeps going strong with its latest track: “Esse Som” (meaning “This song”). They collaborated with Puto Português, one of Angola’s most successful male artists. As usual, “Esse som” sticks to what Afrikanas is known for: rap, kuduro, a slice of R&B, a bit of Afropop and some traditional dance steps.
