MUSIC: Vera Alex - Beat Again

“Some say the world would end between 2012 and 2020. How amusing it is that men have been predicting the end since the beginning of time” says Vera Alex.
Nigerian born Vera Alex is an inspirational Gospel singer, songwriter, dancer and story writer for music videos. She is from the Idoma-speaking part of Benue state. Born in Kano State to dedicated Christian parents, her father, Brother Alex Ameh, was the founder of the Catholic Holy Name Fellowship Worldwide.
Born with an astonishing musical talent that is still yet untapped, she wrote her first song entitled “Oh my God” at the age of 10. She continued to hone her skills by performing songs and dramas at church events. At the age of 14, she formed an all-girl choreography group which she named “Angels in Disguise” and they went on to perform in various places but later separated when she got admission into the university.
Vera is blessed with a creative imagination –a gift which she has employed to write breathtaking stories for music videos. Her artistic diligence and creative ability do not only magnify her innovativeness during the song writing process but also helps her to fashion out appropriate ways to carry her audience along with an interesting music video that will connect with each viewer personally and leave them yearning for more.
Vera is known for her non-compromising behavior and can remain calm even in the midst of turbulence, pressure or a multitude of people. Simply drop her into any situation and she will make an opportunity out of it. She is all about making music which reminds humans of their purpose on earth.
For her, “At the end of time, life is only the dash between two dates. We cannot exercise our choice over the first date and the last date but all that matters is how we have spent that little dash.” Hence, she advises:  “Whatever you intend doing, do it now because in the end when death calls, your last wish won’t be to make more money; it will be to have more time. The greatest tragedy of life is not death, but to meet God unprepared.”
