MUSIC: Shakomended - Think You' re Bad

Lanre Fakeye, generally known in the music and entertainment circle as

Shakomended is a leading management individual with extensive experience,

background and contacts in the entertainment and music production fields. He is

an accomplished entertainer-executive, a Nigerian recording artiste who has

recorded close to 50 masters, released 13 songs with five of those having a

measure of popularity.

His track “Dopemu” from his debut album “Recommended by Shakomended” was

nominated as best indigenous concept at the 2008 edition of The Nigerian Music

Video Award.

Lanre is a graduate of Economics from the University of Calabar and has worked

as business development manager of Premier Records Limited and Moore

Entertainment & Production Ltd over the last five years ; he has also worked with

Tell Communications Limited, publishers of Tell magazine and Broad Street

Journal as a business entertainment reporter; and attended courses as a

copywriter, which he believes has equipped him for the challenges ahead.

Shakomended writes about love, life and everything in-between. From beneath

his graceful lyrics and sensual sound emerges his soul, which enraptures his

listeners as he effortlessly commands their attention. This handsome young dude

distinguishes himself from his contemporaries with his ability to align his creative

and analytical self.

With his music, this great Nigerian lyricist can surely pass for a ladies man with

the Midas touch. His friends call him “Don Juan ”, whiles ladies call him “The

gentleman”.

Shakomended creates his own unique style of song-writing by giving hip hop and

highlife a soulful twist with a splash of blues. His musical style is unique in is own

sense of the word without necessarily being alien to his environment.

He was born on July 18, and shares the same date of birth with Nelson Mandela.

He draws his inspiration from Stevie Wonder who he says is his greatest musician

and vocalist, Lagbaja for his afro centric fusion and Puff Daddy for his crude

business sense.
